Psalm
I never thought that love could be like this
My passions are not wild but frantic free
There's something gentle opening inside
A spacious place where there is room to be
Such subtle colored hues of feeling touch
Like angels breath upon a harp of gold
And music from this stringed heart of mine
Envelopes me in symphonies of soul
God let me feel the ground beneath my feet
And give my spirit wings with which to soar
And let me touch the world with hear t outreached
Let life within the womb, on earth be born
Sweet vulnerable child of mine sing out
This bruised one is all to close to pain
And hides behind the door prepared to strike
At anything which threatens her remains
But Music somehow speaks to frightened Pain
In ways so soft he enters where Pain dwells
And chants the sacred songs that usher Spring
Who comes to tend the earth on which Pain fell
Awakened, Pain released is but a seed
Whose shell by tears of water is dissolved
And Shining Sun instills in her a need
To reach and stretch beyond the black she feels
To dance, to sing, to laugh, to hurt, to cry
To dream, to ask, to search, to wonder why
To doubt, to hope, to care to cope, to try
To breathe the breath of life, to live and die
God let my soul awaken and arise
Inspired by gifts of love which heal the pain
And free my mind to reach the star above
And venture forth with faith in dreams again
